Machete иногда жизнь меняет одна фраза никуда не смыться

Обновлено: 22.11.2024

замкнутый круг can't be vicious circle as we don't say it that way, the proper version would be vicious cycle - series of events you can't escape. I will add videos, didn't know I had to, thank you!

I try to translate the meaning of the phrase, not exactly word for word to make it easy to understand for someone who doesn't speak Russian at all..

Спасибо за перевод!
Несколько моментов, предложений:

No where to hide => Nowhere to hide

Вокруг пелена событий => Life is going on all around/ Things are happening around you all the time

Don't judge strictly => Don’t judge harshly

Know that your I is your family => that your “I” ( or “identity”)

You are on this Earth today, you will be in it tomorrow => you will be six feet under tomorrow/ you will buried in the earth tomorrow.

You are welcome!

Thanks for suggestions, I like 6 ft under better, will change it.

About "Know that your I" I was thinking could be "identity", "ego" but decided to stick to just "I"

I just added quotation marks to I => “I” 😊

Thank you, I am still learning the rules here lol

The general rules of the site are in QA, as you probably already saw. If you like someone’s comments and translations, you can add them as your friends. This way you will see their latest input in the Friends Feed. I find it pretty useful. There are bunch of different forum as well as multi-page discussions for some translations. As a general rule, we do comment a lot! The Russian community is somewhat obsessed with Emily Dickinson lol! If you search for the translations of her works, you will see a sea of our translations! It is absolutely fine to add yours to any song or poem, if you feel you want to make your own version.
The more detailed and private convos are held via PM (private messaging). That’s when you have a question or an issue that you prefer to keep to just a small circle of participants. It doesn’t need to be just two, it can be more people in one PM.
To see someone’s profile and contributions, just click on their username.
To invite someone to the conversation in comments, type [@schnurrbrat] (I hope he doesn’t mind to serve as an example :-)) or whoever’s name in square brackets with @ symbol.
Ask away if you need any help!

That pretty much sums it up, thanks! The guy with Mimino as a profile picture made my day when I saw it lol I have a feeling this website is primarily for Russian speakers, but I may be wrong. As to Emily Dickinson, I prefer Charles Bukowski, so..

Well, you're seriously mistaken thinking that LT is primarily for Russian speakers, although it seems that in the chit-chatting competition there is a lopsided win by Russians. One could even get a "Motor-mouth of the Year" medal there, and proudly display it next to the profile picture.
Regarding "vicious circle" I believe it's a 100% match to "замкнутый круг" idiomatically, but your opinion may vary.

Sorry, system conveyed my example of the invite to a real invite! So it’s open square bracket, @,username,closed square bracket. No spaces between the symbols and username.
